Greetings everyone!
Sorry for not writing sooner, this has been a hectic couple of months. After sending out our decisions, the Admissions Office staff has been very busy with recruitment activities for our admitted students. And it's finally come down to this: May 1st! Yes, as you all know, tomorrow is the deadline which everyone must tell one school where you will be attending this fall. I'm sure you've all had discussions with your family and friends, taken advantage of on-campus admit programs, and reviewed all of the material you have gathered over the past year before you make that one important decision. One piece of advice from me: go with your heart, don't pay attention to the "numbers", rankings, or what the experts say. Go with your instincts, share your thoughts with those who care about you, and you will definitely come to the right decision.
As our entering freshman class comes together, I want to thank all of you for your very nice messages, particularly from those of you who have decided to attend another school. As I mentioned previously, it's important to go to the school that's the right fit for you. It's part of the admissions process. I especially do this because I enjoy meeting prospective students and their parents every year. It's part of what makes this profession so much fun. So. . .whatever decision you have made, or will make by tomorrow, best wishes as you begin a new stage in your life.
And for those of you who still haven't made their minds about coming to Caltech, if you do decide to matriculate here at Caltech, I promise to show you to where Sheldon, Leonard, Raj and Howard have lunch everyday here on campus! (just kidding)
Best wishes,
Ray
